Abbey Vannoy, MA
Communications Specialist
MA - International Relations, Syracuse University
Abbey Vannoy’s happy “collision” with Learning Collider began during her time as an independent contractor/consultant in nonprofit communications and development. After a few months of contracting with Learning Collider, she was hooked on the lab’s vision of using tech platforms to improve social outcomes. She now supports the team through multi-channel communications, oscillating from strategy to content to design.
Abbey’s professional and academic background is rooted in public service, human rights, and social impact. After serving in the U.S. Peace Corps in Eswatini, she headed to graduate school, studying International Relations while working in policy and advocacy. She moved back to her home state of Colorado and soon after launched her solo business focused on grant writing and nonprofit communications.
Messaging, story hooks, data visuals, web layouts, content trends, and distribution tactics fill her work hours. But while doing so, she has the privilege to learn from brilliant data scientists and researchers. Outside of work hours, she’s chasing after her twins, walking with her pup, or working on the latest home DIY project with her spouse. At home and work, her superpower is empathy.
